New plan aims to train 12,000 construction workers

A new initiative has been announced to train 12,000 workers in the construction industry. The program seeks to address critical shortages in skilled trades across the sector.

Under the plan:

• Employers will be incentivised to hire and retain trainees.

• Partnerships between construction firms and colleges will increase access to work-based placement opportunities.
